A Simple ADHD Reset Routine (With a Free Worksheet Coming)

🌙 Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or scattered?

If you have ADHD, you know how this feels. You have a million things to do, but can’t start. Your mind keeps racing, but ADHD paralysis strikes. You’re frozen. Simple tasks feel overwhelming.

Erase your guilt. You’re not lazy. You’re not broken. Your brain just needs a different approach. Don’t get stuck in a self defeating shame loop in your head.

💜 What is an ADHD reset?

An ADHD reset is a gentle way to get unstuck without pressure or overwhelm.

Instead of forcing productivity, lets try to slow things down, reduce the amount of mental chaos, and take one small step at a time.

✨ The 5-Step ADHD Reset

1️⃣ Pause (1–2 minutes)

Sit down, breathe, and do nothing.

This tells your nervous system:
👉 “We’re safe. We can slow down.”

2️⃣ Brain Dump

Write down everything in your head:

  • tasks
  • worries
  • random thoughts
  • what it is keep you up at night
  • Don’t judge your thoughts! Let them out

Don’t organize, just get it out!

3️⃣ Pick ONE thing

Not five. Not three.

👉 Just ONE small task. Make it small, ridiculously tiny.

Example:

  • “Open laptop”
  • “Reply to one message”
  • “Put away 3 items”

4️⃣ Set a 5–10 minute timer

You don’t need to finish — just start.

This removes pressure and builds momentum.

5️⃣ Celebrate the start

Even starting counts.

ADHD brains respond better to:
👉 encouragement, not criticism
